HERMOTH BLOG

On Friday the 19th of May, it was National Give and Gain Day.

The objective of the day was for local businesses and schools to make and maintain relationships within the classroom. Here at Danesholme, Year 4 worked with six volunteers from a local business to complete a 'play in a day' activity.

In English we have been reading the novel, ‘Magician’s Nephew’ by C.S Lewis and throughout the morning we acted out how the characters (Polly and Digory) would have reacted entering the ‘Ruined City of Charn.’ After lunch, we focused on the setting and portrayed them through different mediums of art; some children used pastels, charcoals and tissue paper.

The children really enjoyed working with the visitors and would like to show you some of their photos below.
